In pursuance of the instructions of the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, I have caused Surveys to be taken on the third day of January 1848, of the funds remaining on the commencement of that day, custody of the Treasurer and the Officers in charge of the Strong Vault respectively, and having carefully examined the Reports of the Officers appointed by me to that duty, I hereby certify that I have found the results to be in strict accordance with the statement of the Balances, as they are shown in this Return.
